Toothless Heartthrob

What a fun adventure it is going through all these firsts with our valiant Knight.

Yesterday, you lost your first tooth. It's been loose and wiggly for a week, but hasn't bothered you at all and I actually forgot about it until yesterday afternoon when you were animatedly telling me a story and it distracted me as it moved around in your mouth. I asked if I could wiggle it and after a few wiggles-out it popped. You thought it was awesome. We called Dad at work and skyped with him and then read a bunch of books about the tooth fairy. You had them all laid out and followed the instructions in them to a "T." You were ready. This morning we heard a jubilant shout as you discovered the dollar bill under your pillow. You explained to us that you even got up to use the bathroom in the night and kept your eyes closed so the tooth fairy wouldn't see you peeking. And you get to sign the tooth chart in your kindergarten class. What a fun adventure!

The Duke is ONE

What a fun year it's been.
You are an awesome cuddler, a superb smiler (with deep dimples to boot), a master scooter (swing legs to the left, then the right), and a champion eater.
You broke your first tooth right before your first birthday. Your gummy smile is infectious.
Turns out you're pretty good at catching sickness too.
In January we went to a couple doctors, and two rounds of tests at the hospital to find out you had adenovirus. Lasted 2 weeks, but you were a trooper through it.
Then, you woke up the morning of your birthday feeling off. By night, you didn't even want to eat (though you still performed the obligatory dig into your birthday cake quite well).
It took another week to clear that illness up.
Let's hope you've taken your turn and are up for a long reprieve.

On a side note...I can't get enough of your cuddles. If you make one little cry out in the night, I grab you and put you in with me and Dad. Dad came in last night and said we were cuddled into each other. You'll reach out and make sure you can touch Dad with one hand and me with the other. Sometimes you'll twirl my hair with your hand in your sleep and pat Dad's arm. It is precious...and we love it.
